Jux v1.3 (for Windows) is now available.

Changes in v1.3 include:
Four new formulas (real power, real rational, duckses, kalisets)
Pixel Preview inspector shows information about any pixel in the preview
Export gradient presets to .ugr (registered users only)
Coloring for pixels inside the set
More patterns for textures and material noise
Options to change coloring by basin and/or sub-basin in interior regions
A Fill Light to lighten shadows (steep slopes)
Lighting contours for pixels inside the set
A button to randomize the lighting material
Option to crop or extend rendered view if aspect ratio differs from preview
Option to save pictures in PNG format
Ctrl +/- to zoom the rendered view
Batch rendering (registered users only)

What is Jux?
It is a 2D Julia and Mandelbrot fractal explorer with advanced lighting options.
Built in formulas, mostly with parameters.
Julia thumbnail explorer.
Real-time preview for most color and lighting changes.
Fully multi-core, and anti-aliased rendering.
Presets and memory spots for formulas, coloring and lighting.

i saw "more patterns" as "moire patterns" and thought, wait, thats a feature?   O0

LOL, moire can always be done... the top half is at 5 samples per pixel, bottom half at 49 samples per pixel (pause render, change settings and resume is another useful feature):
