Exactly how did you adjust the basic Menger Sponge formula? I like how there's symmetry but not perfect 100% symmetry. Is there any randomness involved?

I was using latest dev version of Mandelbulber. As Mandelbulber is Open Source  you will be able to study the maths behind it when released.

Definitely no randomness  and it is actually symmetric. Applying some sort of radius or rotate functions produces  curvature.

With next release I will find this  .fract file  and post it as an example.
