Title: Re: 4k mandelbrot musings Post by: quaz0r on September 18, 2015, 08:30:43 PM you mean how its colored? the hue is generated by a multiwave system inspired by pauldelbrot (kalles implements such a thing and calls it infinite waves for example). the saturation and luminance on the other hand are being determined by a variation on slopes i arrived at after some experimentation...basically im just taking the lower-iteration points of a scene and compressing them down to a smaller range of low values, compressing the higher-iteration points up to a smaller range of high values, and feeding that into the slope math, resulting in kind of a DE-ish sort of boundary effect with a subtle 3D sort of effect.
