Title: Liquid Wheat Post by: Kalles Fraktaler on August 30, 2015, 05:51:46 PM Inspired from Jux, I wanted to elaborate applying a texture on the Mandelbrot set.
The texture applied is this image, a close up photo of wheat http://7-themes.com/data_images/out/2/6774684-beautiful-close-up-wallpaper.jpg The location is simple and sparse... I think it turned out pretty well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rb0Oe9In5eA Title: Re: Liquid Wheat Post by: TheRedshiftRider on August 30, 2015, 05:54:39 PM AWESOME!!!
Very interesting. Title: Re: Liquid Wheat Post by: Caleidoscope on August 30, 2015, 09:23:14 PM I really don't know what to say, this looks like a complete new dimension. I love everything you do, for it is always stretching the boundary's for what is possible, and it it is always amazing, wondrous even. This is incredible and maybe even some sort of breakthrough for I have never ever seen a movie like this.
From me ... you can choose the roses or the beer and I suggest you take the beer ;) Congratulations I think this is great. By the way, liquid wheat is just the thing we like to drink in the Netherlands, so perhaps that will explain my excessive thrill :) Title: Re: Liquid Wheat Post by: Kalles Fraktaler on August 30, 2015, 09:56:47 PM Thanks!
This movie was rendered frame by frame, not with key-frames, not with reusing the center. Tedious and use huge amount of disk. But I have ideas on how to do it with key frames... I thought the name was funny because in swedish "liquid hydrogen" is "flytande väte" and liquid wheat is "flytande vete" - almost the same. Your association to wheat beer is also very funny, considering the color of the movie :) Title: Re: Liquid Wheat Post by: thargor6 on August 31, 2015, 12:20:16 AM This is probably the first of those "zooming movies" I really like, and I like it a lot!
Title: Re: Liquid Wheat Post by: Chillheimer on August 31, 2015, 06:24:34 PM yeah!
Title: Re: Liquid Wheat Post by: 3dickulus on September 06, 2015, 11:07:14 PM extremely cool, very watchable, so much more going on than a mind melting mandel zoom, it gives a "real" look.
@thargor6 @Caleidoscope I agree, something of a break from the usual. :thumbsup1: Title: Re: Liquid Wheat Post by: Chillheimer on September 07, 2015, 08:10:17 AM Lets iterate on this and use a still of the mset as texture for the mset that we can use itself as texture for a zoom into the mset of wich we might even take as still to use as texture for........ :nerd:
Title: Re: Liquid Wheat Post by: Kalles Fraktaler on September 12, 2015, 01:56:47 PM Next step is to make this with key-frames so that the "sparkling" is removed. Which also allows synchornization. Since I wanted, at least of now, the texture to be fixed, it requires synchornization of the image regarding zooming and rotation. Here is a new test made with key-frames: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4B1AZf6-aA |
