Today I started with the new shortfilm Exception #1440284226, extending the sketch I did earlier.
I'll be posting BTS, updates and process howtos here.

Part#1 - Shooting (coming soon)

thankyou for sharing that process, mind to tell me what software creates the reconstruction out of your footage?
i am not aware of current reconstruction techniques out of video footage to obtain a 3d cam path/3d object, wow state of technology also advanced in that field very far ;)  is that software just for reconstructing ?!

This was tracked in boujou, but therere's a bunch of packages for motion tracking and camera solving. Matchmoving (that's how the techniques is called) is one of the most rudimentary techniques in VFX today and is used in almost every movie you watch. That version of boujou is like 5 years old, but still does the job. Blender which is open source AFAIK also has some tracking tools and camera solving.

One of the best trackers I've seen is in DaVinci Resolve, a color correction tool and it is used only for tracking masks and objects and you can't solve camera with it. But it's damn fast and precise.

 to you, well done :o I still want to see it eat somebody then spit them out purple :dink: nice audio fx too!

is the length of this vid determined by the amount of data you can cram into a frag or is there a length/frame count limit?

No, there's no limit. This one is a mastershot so no cuts. The other one was edited. Since camera data sits in fqs I don't see a problem having it long. The problem with having it as an array in a vertex shader was that it could be about 250 frames. More was an overkill.

Indeed! Would be also great to have getProperty() method available. Say to read from a bunch of uniforms and set another one.
