Title: Zoom into flat area, looking across
Post by: BradC on December 16, 2009, 04:01:02 PM
A view with the camera moved in close to a smooth-looking flat area on the degree 3 Mandelbulb, looking across the landscape. The flat areas are actually stacked up, very thin layers.

The grainy-looking area in the lower part of the picture is a result of my raymarcher overstepping. If I have it step more carefully, the graininess is reduced, but then it renders too slow...

It's actually a lot like where earth and sky meet: Sand goes up in strange building and on top of them, clouds arise.
