Title: 3D fractal programs and obj export Post by: Natan Sharp on August 01, 2015, 10:11:39 AM I'm experimenting with xenodream and i find it very interesting and flexible not only because of the 3d fractal modellation but also because it can export meshes in obj so i can merge them in my 3d studio max projects.
I'm also trying Mandelbulber but it doesn't export obj meshes so i ask if there is other 3d fractals software that export meshes in obj format. The possibilities to merge 3d fractals in 3ds max it's something amazing...with traditional 3d modelling softwares is very hard to create this kind of objects. 88) Title: Re: 3D fractal programs and obj export Post by: psyriccio on September 03, 2015, 09:55:29 AM I'm experimenting with xenodream and i find it very interesting and flexible not only because of the 3d fractal modellation but also because it can export meshes in obj so i can merge them in my 3d studio max projects. I can describe in more detail a little later Title: Re: 3D fractal programs and obj export Post by: Sockratease on September 03, 2015, 10:55:57 AM Incendia makes the cleanest meshes of all the 3D Fractal Programs I have tried. Many other options exist, but produce meshes that need a lot of work to clean up for use in 3D Software without eating up all the resources. It is not as easy for me to make the sorts of fractals I want using Incendia, but the meshes are certainly the best "out of the package" ones I have encountered. Xenodream is great and makes some nice meshes, but all have a lot of embedded polygons on the inside which are a problem for me since it makes the obj file too unwieldy for my 3D software. JWildfire now exports meshes, so does ChaosPro (but not all fractal types work with it), and all of Terry Gintz's Mystic Fractal Programs also export meshes. There are others, but their names escape me at the moment. Hope that gives you some ideas to explore. |
