I just somehow thought of a whale when I looked at the final image while trying to find the 50th name within the last days.. maybe its the colour, maybe the shape of some eyes (https://goo.gl/PJx6OS) in there..

There's too much structure in there to be random, imo. I actually like it a lot. One of the better ones I've seen.
The last iterations were not be done on the lowest layers, but you did use them in the middle there somewhere, right?
I can see dog shapes but they look like they then got distorted by more line-pattern-y effects.
And your original image contained a lot of very fine wire-like structures, right?

I actually don't really remember, i believe it was just one layer, something like pool3/3x3_s2 used several times with colour and contrast correction in between..
