Title: Hidden world or more like a snail with a suction foot and gooey insides Post by: mrrgu on December 14, 2009, 08:46:35 PM Hi
Ok, I modified the mandelbulb equations to scale r,theta, phi independently as r^Na, Nb*theta, Nc*phi... It is amazing!! what stuff you can find then changing these values :o :o :P Try Na=-2.0 Nb=2.0 Nc=2.0 and you will see a gooey world inside ;D You can also see my attempt to show this here (my renderer is poor): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xit83xkCsw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xit83xkCsw) Title: Re: Hidden world!! Post by: kram1032 on December 14, 2009, 08:55:34 PM nice... maybe something with less transparency would work better though :)
Hard to make out anything specific :) This is the variant that wouldn't be possible with non-spherical formulae I guess, as negative radius is something impossible^^ (although... actually it should be possible by just converting the spherical coordinates with signed radius back to euclidean. this would be equivalent to rotate the whole thing 180° in each step^^) Title: Re: Hidden world Post by: mrrgu on December 14, 2009, 08:59:20 PM The radius is not negative r^-2 is the same as 1/r^2 just inverse. A mandelbrot analogy with Zn=r_n*exp(i*theta_n) would be Zn+1 = (r_n)^-2 * exp(i*2.0*theta_n) + C Thus keeping ordinary sign on 2.0 for the angle..but not for the scaling. I wish someone with better rendering programs..could render this one :tongue1: :tongue1: :tongue1: Ill try less transparency..but i am new to this.. first volume rendering for me. |
