Producing my own dog food now. I have red/blue goggles. Your approach produced a strong ghosting image in my left eye, so I chose to use the red and blue color channels exclusively.

Here is a power -4 "Mandelier" type fractal rendered with an odd iteration count. If everything goes according to plan, this should pop right out of your monitor.

Can't stop now. I tried the "go inside" feature of my renderer to go right into a power 3 Mandelbulb.
Increased the iteration count a little and got this wonderful "tunnel effect".

Wow, that second one especially is super cool. I love it!

Is that a view down into one of the mandelbrot valleys on the xy-plane?
