Title: Great show in Washington, DC - Man Ray- Human Equations Post by: LMarkoya on April 18, 2015, 01:21:09 PM THis past week I was in Washington, DC and had the pleasure to attend a very interesting exhibit at The Philips Collection. The show is of famous surrealist Man Ray's Human Equations, based on remarkable mathematical models he found in Math department. The models are complex surface things which I have no idea how they made or even visualized without computers or 3D printers, and that Man Ray used them for a whole series of artworks is quite interesting. I would think anyone interested in art or math, especially fractalists would enjoy the show immensely, only there through May 10th...so if you are anywhere near the capitol, get over there
MAny of the original mathematical models also are included Title: Re: Great show in Washington, DC - Man Ray- Human Equations Post by: KRAFTWERK on April 18, 2015, 04:26:40 PM Oh how I wish I could go and see it it looks very interesting: http://www.phillipscollection.org/events/2015-02-07-exhibition-man-ray-human-equations Glad to hear it was a great experience for you Louis! |
