Title: The Beauty of Roots Post by: flexiverse on April 13, 2015, 11:25:25 PM I thought this was very interesting:
fascinating picture of all the roots of all polynomials (http://www.math.ucr.edu/home/baez/roots/polynomialrootssmall.png) http://math.andrej.com/2014/10/16/tedx-zeroes/#more-1777 http://www.math.ucr.edu/home/baez/roots/ (http://www.math.ucr.edu/home/baez/roots/) Title: Re: The Beauty of Roots Post by: Tglad on April 14, 2015, 01:39:19 AM Yes, it is nice. Sort of a Mandelbrot set of IFSs. (though it doesn't show all the IFSs, but nor does the Mandelbrot set show all the Julia sets).
It is similar to something I called Mobius maps, which I also think are ace- https://sites.google.com/site/tomloweprojects/scale-symmetry/mobius-maps (https://sites.google.com/site/tomloweprojects/scale-symmetry/mobius-maps) (https://sites.google.com/site/tomloweprojects/_/rsrc/1347868956405/scale-symmetry/mobius-maps/storm3.png?height=385&width=400) (https://sites.google.com/site/tomloweprojects/_/rsrc/1348140786191/scale-symmetry/mobius-maps/threed.png) Title: Re: The Beauty of Roots Post by: DarkBeam on April 14, 2015, 09:28:38 AM Also see;

I feel as through everything in mathematics has a fractal structure. Which means the holy grail right now, that is what is the next prime number formula, Is probably just a simple iterative fractal formula for a higher dimensional object. The reason for this? Reality is a fractal. The universe itself is a multidimensional fractal of sadred geometry. |
