Title: Formula database? Post by: 0Encrypted0 on April 13, 2015, 07:08:02 PM Blobby (How to write simple m3f) (http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?topic=21126.0)
Thinking ahead, does anyone else see a need for a database of formulas for MB3D, possibly like the Ultra Fractal formula database? Formula changes that break backward compatibility will need to be versioned so the old formula remains. As the number of formulas increase, there will also be a need to revise the interface for choosing formulas. The drop down lists will become unworkable. A browser/search engine to pick formulas from the different categories using a thumbnail of the basic shape/function would be fantastic if possible. Title: Re: Formula database? Post by: DarkBeam on April 13, 2015, 07:34:54 PM Oh yes, this probably will be an issue soon.
But many formulas are not needed those days. I guess they should be no longer included in mb by default as they sometimes were workarounds to get a difs effect in the early days. There is a project over da in classification of formulas, too. Title: Re: Formula database? Post by: 0Encrypted0 on April 13, 2015, 07:41:02 PM But many formulas are not needed those days. If so, then there should be a discontinued category in the database to preserve backward compatibility. Title: Re: Formula database? Post by: DarkBeam on April 13, 2015, 07:53:51 PM Good idea. A 2nd zip should do the job :)
