Title: fragmentarium/ mandelbulber or Mandelbul3d Classes Post by: jpuget on March 10, 2015, 12:27:24 PM Hello, I discovered the fractal world a few weeks ago and I am really impressed. I have seen some tutorials about Mandelbulber and fragmentarium, but the thrush is that I am lost in this fractal world and I really would like to know how to develop images in one of these softwares. So i would like to receive some classes or guides with the basic things and advices to go through it in the best way. Of course the help will be well paid.
Thank you very much in advance Title: Re: fragmentarium/ mandelbulber or Mandelbul3d Classes Post by: Sockratease on March 11, 2015, 10:22:44 PM Here's a Mandelbulber Tutorial:

Just search the word Tutorial and the program name. If you are lost in the math and programming I would suggest staying away from Fragmentarium as it relies heavily on programming knowledge O0 Title: Re: fragmentarium/ mandelbulber or Mandelbul3d Classes Post by: 3dickulus on March 12, 2015, 01:06:58 AM just my "2 cents worth" :dink:
Fragmentarium doesn't require any programming knowledge unless you want to dabble with the code. You can load one of many excellent scripts from the examples folder (about 180 in my local collection) and be animating in very little time (with the 3Dickulus version) (http://www.fractalforums.com/fragmentarium/cat-mull-rom-spline-paths-cameraparameter-keyframes/) without having to edit the scripts in most cases. Some may require a line or two to be adjusted or added but for the most part you can dive in pretty quickly and the authors of scripts here (FF) I have found are happy to explain the variables or help get you started. The hard part is the gfx card speed, if you have a fast one you will learn how to use the settings in a fractal rendering program quickly because you will get faster results when you make adjustments. I don't know of a "general use" tutorial for Fragmentarium but the bottom line is this: you just have to spend time observing the results of adjustments and doing lots of renders until you get to know it well, then you can zero in on expressing an idea or invoking a feeling with with images using this new tool ;) If you have any questions about any of the features in the 3Dickulus version of Fragmentarium (http://www.fractalforums.com/fragmentarium/cat-mull-rom-spline-paths-cameraparameter-keyframes/) just ask on this board http://www.fractalforums.com/fragmentarium/ or pm me :D Title: Re: fragmentarium/ mandelbulber or Mandelbul3d Classes Post by: Sockratease on March 12, 2015, 10:35:25 AM just my "2 cents worth" :dink: Fragmentarium doesn't require any programming knowledge unless you want to dabble with the code. I gave Fragmentarium a go when it first came out and found it to be heavily reliant on scripting. Either I just hadn't had my coffee yet that day, or it changed significantly with updates :embarrass: My mistake, and thanks again for pointing it out! I'll have to give it another look one of these days... Title: Re: fragmentarium/ mandelbulber or Mandelbul3d Classes Post by: 3dickulus on March 12, 2015, 02:43:12 PM I added some features that I think makes it very easy for non-technical folks to make animations, I am not mathematically inclined but I know my way around Qt well enough to enhance the GUI with a few things. I hope that some of the ideas presented in http://www.fractalforums.com/fragmentarium/cat-mull-rom-spline-paths-cameraparameter-keyframes/ make it into the "official" release by Syntopia. But to be clear, my "enhancements" are experimental hacks. :dink: I thought it would be a good idea to put the animation control into the C++ part rather than into the GLSL to leave more room for specialized formulas in the limited GLSL space. |
