"Strange Attractors" will be my first one man show in 40 years. For the past few of those years I have poured my heart and soul into the evolution and continuity of Dali's work, and have developed my own style and philosophies. While the show will concentrate on my own recent work, it will contain 2 Dali originals, never seen by the general public and some work I did during my time with the master. The show will also feature the short 3D film I made also named "Strange Attractors" which takes you inside the brain to witness thought as morphing fractal architecture, and more. The images are from the unique lenticular 3D postcard I designed for the show announcement. Title: LEcture at "Strange Attractors" my one man show at Washington and Lee Post by: LMarkoya on March 12, 2015, 02:35:43 PM Thank you all for your support and well wishes. Last week I gave a talk for and about the show to around 200 people at the auditorium next to the gallery in Washington and Lee University. It spoke a lot on the evolution of fractals in art and making relevant that the golden section is so easily transformed into a fractal. With that explained I demystified Dali's love of Rhinocerous horns and Cauliflower, by explaining that not only are they logarithmic, but highly fractal. The point was made that many "classical" artists painted fractal geometry without their knowledge as the phenomina was not known until 1975. I also announced a new art "ism" for my work. While it employs surrealism and nuclear mysticism, it does not easily fit into either genre, so I introduced the term "Mathemysticism" to the audience. I think a few artists here fall into the category.
