Source: http://jeroensnake.deviantart.com/art/Color-Folding-505852854 While the escape time fractals are like static worlds which needs to be explored, the (k)IFS fractals seem to ask for tuning their design. The structures within a specific type of IFS fractal show more self-similarity than the shapes found in escape time variants (for example mandelbrot set and burning ship). Perhaps this is due to the UI, which provides more buttons and sliders for all the parameters to tune. This leads to more knob-turning and less exploration in the specific spaces. But maybe it's the look-all-the-same feature which does not really invite to further exploration. When looking at a static 2D projection of a IFS structure, it's very hard to tell the perspective and the ratios. Only when moving through the set, or when placing lights ... the depth and space become more clear. Title: Re: Color Folding Post by: quaz0r on January 10, 2015, 01:44:15 PM nice one :) |
