Title: I am back on the scene!
Post by: teamfresh on January 05, 2015, 07:09:54 PM
Hi everyone, I had some time away from rendering fractals, maybe a year or two, this was due to working on other projects and also my hardware becoming dated and too slow to produce what my mind wanted to create. Well that is all change now as I finally have upgraded my hardware :D (it is a slick x99 build) I spent a lot of time here on this forum in the past and I see that my most famous animation (last lights on (http://www.fractalforums.com/movies-showcase-(rate-my-movie)/trip-to-e228/)) is still stickied at the 'rate my movie' section of the fractal forum :) Well now I hope to produce more work that is worthy of being stickied. I want to blow peoples minds and take their breath away by showing them sights they have never seen before. Here is a little something I rendered on my new machine to test it out.

If you are using chrome the video will play @ 60fps at 720p and 1080p resolutions!! (you may need to view the video on the youtube page)

Fractal Cell

The audio is a two track mix (by myself)
audio track 1 is "Hella" by Broke For Free (http://brokeforfree.com/)
audio track 2 is "Ivory" by Moon Veil (http://leecuyler.tumblr.com/)

It is good to be back and I hope you are all well :)

Think I've seen lots of your older zoom/fractal movies ... they're great. I was impressed and thought you had either a render farm and/or huge patience. I've just seen the Split Point videos on your website ... and it's again impressive. Can't say wb, since I'm kinda new here compared to you. But anyway, nice to see you here at the forum!

Thanks for reply and yes I don't have a render farm - just patience. although it was starting to wear a little thin when it came to rendering some of the more complex 3D fractals haha!

Hello

I too have seen your movies that I think are very very impressive and inspiring.
Thanks a lot for these!

Are you using your own software?
Have you seen the new methods of render the Mandelbrot set with Perturbation and Series Approximation?
If gives speed up of at least a couple of magnitudes and in extreme cases 5 magnitudes.
What previously required hours can now be done in seconds.

If you haven't, it will be another moment of an old fractal renderer to exploit this method (as stardust4ever for example) :)

Thank you I like to explore all options and I am planning to try out your software in the near future now that I have upgraded the hardware. When I produce something worthy of note using it I will surely let you know at the forums here :)
