Title: Menger Post by: richardrosenman on December 15, 2014, 10:32:19 PM Hello;
I have just finished my latest project called Menger, created with Fragmentarium. Title: Re: Menger Post by: Dinkydau on December 17, 2014, 09:43:30 PM Nice video and music
Title: Re: Menger Post by: kubinator4321 on December 24, 2014, 11:18:18 PM That quite took my breath away...
I didn't even listen to the music (It's late here, don't want to wake anybody up and don't have headphones), but the video is amazing. I love how you made the camera shake, causing a feeling of intense action, while simply showing modified menger sponges "evolving". I couldn't ever do something like that, even in a downloaded program (I mostly stick to my own programs), but you are truly born to render! Title: Re: Menger Post by: Caleidoscope on December 25, 2014, 10:58:04 AM Amazing video.
You really get the idea of a underwater movie and some sort of unknown biomass. It's spectacular and the music is perfectly chosen! "Cheers to you too" Happy holidays to you all. :) Title: Re: Menger Post by: 3dickulus on December 26, 2014, 08:48:49 PM A sponge diver's dream, awesome effects!
it has been some time since I've been able to play with Fragmentarium, just curious, what version you used... old ? new ? eclipse ? hacked ? Title: Re: Menger Post by: richardrosenman on December 29, 2014, 07:16:42 PM Hi guys;
Thank you so much for your very nice compliments. kubinator4321 - Yes, I think the camera work really spices it up. Ideally this should have been done in 3D with the virtual camera but I didn't know how so I did it in compositing. It's a 2D camera move but it works surprisingly well, IMO. Without the camera work, the video lacks energy. 3dickulus - I used an older version: 0.9.12. I tried the latest one but all my projects were created with this older version so I just stuck to that one. Again, the most impressive thing to me is just how fast these fractals are rendered using the GPU. All frames were under 2 seconds and from someone who specializes in 3D rendering, where HD frames take on average over an hour, it is spectacular to say the least. ;) -Rich Title: Re: Menger Post by: cKleinhuis on December 29, 2014, 10:30:29 PM for rendering fragmentarium scripts, be sure to check out "Synthclipse" an awesome eclipse based gpu editor with animations, saving, code hinting, code highlighting http://synthclipse.sourceforge.net/ |
