Title: Version 1.3.9 is available
Post by: Botond Kósa on November 28, 2014, 01:07:36 PM
A small update is available. Rendered images can now be saved in JPEG format. It uses a lossy compression with quality set high enough to be indistinguishable from the lossless PNGs, with only 1/4 the file size.

I've been recommended to have a look at this program but I can't find any 32-bit versions. Where can I find them somewhere?

I'm sorry but there is no 32-bit version available, and it is unlikely it will ever be. The reasons can be found in this (http://www.fractalforums.com/mandel-machine/version-1-3-5-is-available/msg78115/#msg78115) topic.

"•Coloring options:
◦3 palette presets
◦Palette can be extracted from any jpg/png/bmp/gif image
◦8 different iteration transfer functions
◦Color density & offset adjustable
◦Smooth/solid/inverted dwell bands
"

Maybe you could try colour palletes generated by procedures, mostly like sine wave functions. Fractint (or Ultra Fractal) style palettes IMHO looks a bitt like old style internet with 8  bitt colours. This could give 2D the edge with all cool 3D stuff and flames. It's  Fractal Explorer or Sterlingware. The only problem that Fractal Explorer site is down and Source Codes are no longer aviable and sterlingware sources should be somewhere
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterling_(program) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterling_(program))
http://soler7.com/Fractals/Sterling2.html (http://soler7.com/Fractals/Sterling2.html)
.

There is no way that premade palletes could generate so abundant colours like procedural. (http://)

Thanks for PNG sequences. That is enough to be able to make videos with your program.
