Title: Kalles Fraktaler 2.7.4 available Post by: Kalles Fraktaler on November 25, 2014, 06:50:02 PM A new version of Kalles Fraktaler is available, now version 2.7.4
One new feature: When a zoom out sequence is created, the option to store each kfb frame as a jpeg image is available. This enables you to quickly preview the zoom sequence before continue rendering the actual movie. Or you can do other things with the frames, like publish on deviantart, print it, etc etc. This function is somewhat experimental and there might be a problem storing these images if the Kalles Fraktaler main window is minimized. :embarrass: ;D Title: Re: Kalles Fraktaler 2.7.4 available Post by: youhn on November 25, 2014, 06:59:21 PM :cantor_dance: :thanks1:
Title: Re: Kalles Fraktaler 2.7.4 available Post by: TheRedshiftRider on November 25, 2014, 07:22:09 PM Thanks, this will be a nice fast way of checking for glitches. This will also make it easier to make panoramas! ^-^
Title: Re: Kalles Fraktaler 2.7.4 available Post by: TheRedshiftRider on November 26, 2014, 03:38:02 PM The image system works fine for me but the find minibrot function is kinda messed up. It keeps zooming in on spirals and it says it is done when I want to activate it even when the center is visible with all references loaded.

I usually use this on views with no more than 100,000 difference between highest and lowest iteration values. Your example has 500,000. I guess any averaging is eliminated if nearby pixels has such big difference. It would probably be much better if the resulting rgb values would be used instead when searching for the center. This reminds me of my failed attempt to use supersampling on the iteration values... :) Title: Re: Kalles Fraktaler 2.7.4 available Post by: TheRedshiftRider on November 28, 2014, 05:26:52 PM You are right. One thing I forgot to say is that I used histogram colouring which could have been the cause of the problem.I usually use this on views with no more than 100,000 difference between highest and lowest iteration values. When zooming into an area the image that comes up in the next frame nears little relation to what was in the previous frame. Apologies for my poor explanation, I'm not sure how to describe what's happening.

It seems that the double precision is simply not enough when using perturbation... Title: Re: Kalles Fraktaler 2.7.4 available Post by: ratcat65 on November 30, 2014, 01:40:48 PM Unfortunately this isn't the first time I've found it. I've found it in some of the other new fractal types also but I can't remember which ones. :embarrass: |
