Title: Re: Solidification of flamez - a different flame-video Post by: Dinkydau on March 07, 2017, 08:19:54 PM Interesting idea and definitely useful for 3d printing, but if not for 3d printing, I don't like it. The ghost-like appearance of flames is what I've always liked about them and the buddhabrot for example.

I agree, most of the time I also prefer them (and in fact, my recent renders are "classic" ones, e.g.: http://thargor6.deviantart.com/art/Organic-667729401 ). Turning them into meshes allows to use any kind of fancy material/shader (of your favourite 3d package), which could lead to even more cool "ghost" appearance - I should really try this next when I find the time :-) Cheers! |
