Title: Burning Ship zoom - Running with the colors
Post by: youhn on September 06, 2014, 07:13:35 PM
Manually matching the color cycling speed with the (average) zooming speed gives the illusion of morphing shapes. But the iteration band density is not constant during the zoom. I wonder if there is a way to connect the color cyling speed with the iteration speed. Something like taking the derivation of the number of iterations with respect to the zoom level.

This one start as a constant speed, steady color fast zoom into the antenna down to 6E213. After a little while, the colors start to move. Only near the end of the zoom the color cycling speed cannot keep up with the zoom speed. Only then the full paletta becomes clear.
