Title: Spirals in 3D Julia Set Post by: in4ur on August 24, 2014, 07:14:44 PM Spirals in 3D Julia Set (http://nocache-nocookies.digitalgott.com/gallery/16/10029_24_08_14_7_14_43.jpeg) http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=16575 Download in original resolution (1920x1080) and view on a 3D TV in Side by Side mode. I applied the algorithm created to view the classic Mandelbrot Set in 3D (the third dimension is the escape-time of each point) also to the Julia Set(s). This image is one of my favorites: a spiral composed of spirals composed of spirals... and all of them converge at infinite distance. By the way, I don’t use smooth color transitions because they don’t live well with 3D. The brain needs to recognize and determine correspondences between the shapes both eyes see to deduce their distance, and that way it becomes more difficult.
