Nobody knows how the feud started, but the struggle to control territory has resulted in the most fantastically convoluted borders, and infinite regresses where each faction has captured a beachhead behind the other's lines. This spacefilling Julia set is a small parameter tweak away from "Histology Slide", "The Megapennate Nebula", and "Cytospiralovirus". The latter's spirals became the Jaggies, and the star-patterns in the former in the lower right region became the coiled forms of the Smoothies. The irregular borders between their territories actually are influenced by a third Julia pattern, which would solidify to become a Herman ring with a larger jump of the parameters. |
