Title: "Out of memory" - while having more ram Post by: kuldarle on June 18, 2014, 11:27:30 AM Hi mates,
i have a question. Sometimes if i try to render large image in Mandelbulb and it says something like "Out of memory, decrease the imagesize." - for me usually it's not a problem and i can decrease image size a bit, but what kind "memory" type we are talking about here? For example in my old pc i could render 12000x8000px image with no problem, but in new pc it has to be 11000 or less (same file), but my new pc specifications are much-much better. So what type of memory needs to be adjusted or is it caused by win7 and win8 (in new pc) differences? Also in old PC had 16gb of ram and in new i have 32gb. How can increase the memory size so i can do same size renders in new pc too :) I use mandebulb renders mostly for textures. Maybe some of you has seen my works in DA or somewhere else: http://kuldarleement.deviantart.com/gallery/ Title: Re: "Out of memory" - while having more ram Post by: taurus on June 18, 2014, 11:33:17 AM M3d is a 32 bit App so it is limited in memory usage in principle, regardless of your 'puter's RAM. Try the Big Image rendering in Utility tab

I actually did know the "Big render" option and for me it's not so critical, that i have to change the size form 12000 to 11000 or so, it's no a loss for me cause i need at least 8000px width images if i want to print them at least 1m in width (it's just nice to resize them to get better detail). It's still a bit weird that in old pc it render this size, but in new it can't. Thank you for quick answer!
