They're forecasting an active hurricane season in the Pacific this year, because of El Nino, and already there's been a Category 3 storm there and it isn't even June yet.

The Pacific has nothing on the Matchmaker Mandelbrot, though, as this zoom of a spacefilling-detail-bearing region of the lower left part of "Pastel Storm" demonstrates. (This region is also visible somewhat left of the center of "Intersections in Complex Space".)

The coloring is unchanged from "Pastel Storm" (which did change it from "Intersections in Complex Space"). The spirals wrap more tightly or otherwise differently from place to place in this image due to it being a parameter-space view.

ohww. swirly collections of a thousand fluffy lights, which makes some sort of clouds ... nice, subtle!

Now I read something about a storm. I might have gotten the scale a bit off ...
