Title: OpenCL / GPU animation rendering? Post by: IteratedLaughter on May 19, 2014, 09:05:07 AM Does this exist? Also, does anyone like using Mandelbulber? I have used it before but have enjoyed Mandelbulb 3d much more. When I used bulber last though, it has OpenCL and rendered crazy fast. I am practicing with the animations and am wondering if there is a similar way to render them? Or is there a way to render a parameter made from either with LuxRender? I have that program aswell, and have not been able to figure out how to render anything with it haha. I am still really new to the fractal world but have been reading books etc and have developed a huge interest in studying and generating them!
Thank you! :) Title: Re: OpenCL / GPU animation rendering? Post by: taurus on May 19, 2014, 10:25:24 AM Does this exist? Also, does anyone like using Mandelbulber? It does exist and yes, I like using Mandelbulber. As fortune wants, I recently uploaded a video completely rendered in mandelbulber, the first 30 seconds are openCL. You can find it here: http://www.fractalforums.com/movies-showcase-%28rate-my-movie%29/bad-bunny-bitch/msg74069/#msg74069 (http://www.fractalforums.com/movies-showcase-%28rate-my-movie%29/bad-bunny-bitch/msg74069/#msg74069) As LuxRender is a raytracer and m3d and bulber use distance estimated raymarching, I see no way to bring them together... Hmm, not up to speed on exactly what those terms mean or refer to. Still pretty damn noob-ish haha. Title: Re: OpenCL / GPU animation rendering? Post by: IteratedLaughter on May 20, 2014, 04:33:12 AM Awesome video by the way! On the topic of rendering, with M3d (from the video I watched) you have to render the preview which exports to an .gif, and then use seperate software to render the gif into an .avi / add music, etc? I recently bought Sony Vegas and have been watching videos trying to figure out how the hell to get all of that to work haha. How do you go about it??
Title: Re: OpenCL / GPU animation rendering? Post by: taurus on May 20, 2014, 06:22:14 AM try VirtualDub to make jpg/png sequence to avi.

Post by: IteratedLaughter on May 22, 2014, 11:46:11 PM Yeah that is what I discovered first and was able to create an animation but could not replicate the results. But today I stumbled upon a very helpful tutorial and the tiny animation I created today looks a lot cleaner than the previous! |
