Title: Mandelbrox Post by: kjknohw on May 04, 2014, 01:18:26 AM (http://www.developmentserver.com/kevin/2014_mandelPower/mandelbrox.png)
Enough said. UF5 formula (including Julia). Unfortunately you cannot change the power but that would be straightforward to implement. http://www.developmentserver.com/kevin/2014_mandelPower/mandelbrox.ufm (http://www.developmentserver.com/kevin/2014_mandelPower/mandelbrox.ufm) Both the mandelbox and mandelbulb work well in 3D, how would this mandelbrox fare? Title: Re: Mandelbrox Post by: kram1032 on May 04, 2014, 02:32:41 AM Ok, somebody gotta make this into a die. Like, what you are currently showing, is a die-role of 5. Or maybe 4.
Somehow make a 3D shape which is bounded by a cube with an appropriate face-value as given by the number of M-Sets or Tricorn-Sets on each side. And then 3D Print it. And then ???. And then PROFIT. Seriously though, this looks nice It could use a nicer coloring technique or something but it's a nice overall shape. Title: Re: Mandelbrox Post by: kjknohw on May 04, 2014, 04:44:48 AM lol. It seems the cube will have 27 mandelbulbs and you could cut it off so that the 6 face mandelbulbs get sliced (the cross-section of a bulb is a Mandelbrot if it is at the right angle).

Title: Re: Mandelbrox Post by: kjknohw on May 04, 2014, 12:05:13 PM Had a look at the FoldingIntPow images. They are beautiful! This is the one that is clearly a mandelbulb mandelbox combo like you said. Congrats to whoever first beat me to it (and did it in gorgeous 3D). http://topas2012.deviantart.com/art/Surf-vs-Folding-Int-Pow-351938145 (http://topas2012.deviantart.com/art/Surf-vs-Folding-Int-Pow-351938145) |
