Hi all

dont know if i have put this on the correct board sorry if it's not, i am new to all this, i would like to download some sets that i have seen lots of Parameter sets, texture sets and formulas on the and  net especially on deviant art site, please can somebody tell me if i can how and where do i put them in my Ultra Fractal 5.04 folders. Sorry silly question but i am a real newbie.

If the UF Parameters are blocks of text, just copy them to your clipboard and paste them in UF.

If it's a .par file you can put it anywhere and open it with UF.

Hi Logan,

Click on Options and then Folders.  This will tell you when Ultra Fractal expects to find various file types.  So if you download a parameter file or a formula file, then put it into the corresponding folder.

If you see a parameter set like the one below and want to open it in Ultra Fractal, copy all of it (from the line containing "{" through the line containing "}").  Then open any fractal in Ultra Fractal, or create a new one.  When you have a fractal window open, paste the parameter set into it and the fractal will draw (if you have all of the necessary formulas).  Once it has finished, you can save it wherever you wish.

thanks for reply u may think i am a bit thick sorry, i have fractual julia open i have copied a text like u said and have tried to paste it into the open window but it wont let me, paste is not available.

Make sure the fractal window is actually selected and right-click on it (i.e. the window containing the current fractal image) then select "paste" from the menu that pops up.
If when you right-click "paste" is disabled then you've not copied the parameter text correctly somehow - see Kerry's post above and make sure you highlight the whole of the fractal parameter from "Fractal1 {" down to "}" before selecting "copy".

thanks for reply, it worked. the only issue i have now is (i am following a tutorial that came with UF) and when it comes to the part wher i have to syncronize and place numbers in the julia seed boxes i click on the numbers and then try and paste in the boxes nothing happens the paste is not available.
