Title: Greetings from Holland Post by: Caleidoscope on April 18, 2014, 12:23:55 PM Hi there,
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself on this forum. I'm a woman 60 years old, living in the Netherlands. Several years ago I came in contact with Chaoscope and loved it ever since. Didn't understand much of it but tried to make (and fail) nice fractals. Often didn't look at the programme anymore for periods of time but recently I re-discovered it and using it a lot again. It is the only fractal programme I use. Recently I started with animations and can't stop it, rendering day after day, computers doiing overtime :o For those who want to see some of the stuff I do, my website is: Graphic-Unlimited.com photography and fractals. My youtube channel for this and the Fractal animations is on: http://www.youtube.com/user/PhotoCaleidoscope It's nice to be here although I'm afraid you all know a lot more about fractals as I do. :) I hope to learn here and to enjoy the Art and beauty made by the other members. Have a nice weekend, Caleidoscope Title: Re: Greetings from Holland Post by: Madman on April 18, 2014, 09:24:59 PM Groeten terug en welkom :dink:
If you like, you can post some of your work here too. Be warned, though, you may get addicted to other fractal programs if you lurk on the forums too long! Title: Re: Greetings from Holland Post by: Tabasco Raremaster on April 19, 2014, 08:42:01 PM Vrolijk Pasen.
Title: Re: Greetings from Holland Post by: audre on April 20, 2014, 01:23:33 AM Hello Caleidoscope!
I'm new here as well :) Looking forward to getting back into fractals (and photography too, if possible) Have a wonderful weekend. Title: Re: Greetings from Holland Post by: Caleidoscope on April 20, 2014, 11:06:05 AM Thank you Madman, and if I make something nice enough I will put it on this forum :) I don't know yet how things work down here but I'll find out soon enough I hope.
And if one day I will be 'unfaithful' to chaoscope ;) I'm sure it will be a new fascinating experience. I'm gonna check out all the galleries, I've seen already amazing stuff and sure will wonder around between all those beautiful creations. Tobasco, jij ook fijne Paasdagen in het zonnige Nederland. And all the other member too, I wish you all a nice eastern. Down here the sun is shining brightly. Hoi Audre, I wish you a lot of fun with the fractals and the photography again. Look forward to see them. What kind of Photography you like to make and do you post them somewhere? Title: Re: Greetings from Holland Post by: audre on April 21, 2014, 03:16:49 PM I have spent the last 48 hours on a marathon Mandelbulb 3D session LOL. Really enjoying the program - perhaps too much as now it will be difficult to return to 'real world' duties.
RE: photography - I used to run a small studio and did portraits for a while. Though my real passion is macro and landscape. My brother does astro photography and got me involved in hunting for coronal mass ejections on our sun. :) But I haven't cracked any of my fun equipment in over 5 years, sadly. Got sidetracked while participating in a few business start ups that became all-consuming. :( I've decided to take a break from startups and my 'day job' for a bit to pursue my own ventures again. And I'm in the process of getting my galleries back up. I am very much looking forward to being able to pursue more of my visually-based hobbies now! Here a few of my more-fun portraits from the studio-days: (http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_132.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_155.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_108.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_087.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_150.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_146.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_141.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_006a.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_007.jpg)(http://audrestudios.com/gallery/people/thumbs/AudreStudios_People_054.jpg) Very cool animations on your Youtube channel :) - 7 days to render! Wow. That last one is a monster. Reminds me of jellyfish deep in the ocean... Looking forward to seeing more of your work! Thank you for your feedback, suggestions, and link to charleskleinphotography.com - he's got some very nice work indeed! I am looking forward to creating with fractals, for sure :) Title: Re: Greetings from Holland Post by: Caleidoscope on April 23, 2014, 05:55:00 PM Hi there, Sorry for the late reply had some trouble with my login, don't know why but at this moment it works :) Audre, really outstanding work. Can see that you have a wide range of ability and creativity. That makes life great for there is always something to do, to explore a challenge to meet. In Holland it is difficult to make a living with photography today. Although I think if you are really different and offer something special you can still make enough to live well. And you sure have enough to offer ;) Good of you to jump in your passion again and go for it. If you wait too long with those things you like but never pursuit time is up before you know it. I really hope it will work out for you and why not? Think it's great what you do, to go with your brother 'hunting the sun' I don't even have to consider it ::) I'm already very happy that I finally successfully took some pictures of a full moon with the camera as still as possible in my hand ;D Hope you will share them one day with us. Love photography, I'm more in nature/animals an patterns/structures not so much in humans or faces I'm absolutely not good in it also. Except if there is a mystery or a silent story to tell. For example, this picture I took on a children-animalfarm and this child was sitting there just stroking this stone statue of a pig. Talking to it and stroking it all the time. While around her there was an abundance of living animals she just sat there alone and completely in her own world. You know what I mean? The question, the wondering why, is at that moment more important to me than if it will be a good picture. I just have to have that picture :) Don't know how to put the picture in the message but I will figure it out :embarrass: so for now I've put this one as an attachment I will remove it later for I understand the problem of webspace. Further more I have a passion for structures in nature, patterns and hidden 'mysterious' stuff, and off course everything else in flora, fauna etc. :) I will show them later. Nice to have photographers and fractal-lovers on a forum together. And for Weavers, what a kind and poetic almost an epic beautiful comment did you give Audre. Something to read more then once. :) Ok, got visitors now and they like to have a cold fresh bottle of beer, so Cheers to you all  |
