Title: Spacetime - Zoom into ultradense area
Post by: Chillheimer on April 10, 2014, 10:07:58 AM
A zoom into a very dense area of the M-Set, 10 million iterations. Rendering took several days, even though it only zooms to e33.

Did I mention how much I love the colour cycling function of Kalles Fraktaler? :)
And thanks to panzerboy for sharing this beautiful colour palette!

here's a hd-version with less compression (440mb)

It's awesome.
What software do you use to combine the raw avi files?
One can feel the joints I think

This is very nice indeed! I do appreciate the relative slow movement (compared to those tunnelvision inducing bullet-train-speed flythoughs). Gives some time to look around and wonder. The colorcyling really adds something to the otherwise kinda boring end near the minibrot. The contrast between the almost-grey and monotone-color (but changing) areas is great!

thx :)
i use virtual dub and the xvid-codec. I've also noticed the joints, but thought it was 'kalles fault' ;)
any suggestions how to make this better? what do you use?

I use Microsoft's Movie Maker...
And when I create the raw Avis I use Iuyv codec (not sure if that is the right name, it is included in standard windows) even though it has only 24 bits per pixel which limitation is visible around the main Mandelbrot shape.

The exact name if the codec I use is "Intel IYUV codec" and since I haven't installed any codecs on my PC I assume it is included as standard in windows.
This codec require that "Code color bits" = 24

yeah, it's included, but since my last re-install of windows 8 it doesn't work properly and distorts the video.
right now I'm testing a different version of h264 - looks promising.

Really? 24-bits should be (almost) impossible to recognize errors in. It exceeds the precision of eyes.

Yes, when zoom=1 and high bailout I think I see more lines around the main Brot in movies than in the programs...🚂
