Title: Assistance with Mandelbulb - corrupt image and I'm totally new
Post by: IAmThatStrange on March 17, 2014, 04:36:02 PM
Hi, I'm totally new to Mandelbulb.  I totally love it but with it's complexity it maybe years before I know it.

And so I've a question that is probably really dumb but.  I've a fractal that looks great in the 3D navigator but looks... corrupt or something in the main window.

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong or how to avoid this (it happens all the time).

Since my description isn't very clear I've attached an image.

 :embarrass:

Thanks much!

For me the main window looks much better with more fractal detail.
But if you want it more like in the navi window (less detail), try to increase the DE stop value to say 20...

I do agree.

Thanks for the quick reply I do appreciate it.  I'm sorry I wasn't very clear.  I know that the main window is the better view overall.  But in this case it isn't (see attached image)

The main window image looks like pieces/sections are broken and if I save the image the image looks broken too..  but if you look at the 3d nav it doesn't look broken.  I don't want it to look broken... :'(  I want it too look unbroken like in the 3d Navigator.

I uploaded another image (a closeup with some text) with the area I'm talking about inside the black and red rectangles.  See the black broken looking pieces?   If you look at the 3d Nav window (to right of the black rectangle) you don't see any of the black broken looking pieces.

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks again!

Seems to me you need to adjust with the Z tool in the main window (3rd button from the bottom left corner).
