Title: Color of sine waves
Post by: Kalles Fraktaler on February 12, 2014, 12:00:28 AM
Experimenting with sine waves for colors.
The color palette for this movie was made of 3 sine waves, one for each RGB color (see the attached image)
It became, at least, very colorful...

I really enjoyed the sine waves, well done!

kalle, it is nice that you tried it, and the dynamic of the effect is very cool, i mean, just by color cycling you produced some moving worms there, in the last anim of yours the movement was more like "outset" lol dunno how to describe, but this is really mesmerising ;)

now the next step is not to interpolate the single channels, but map a full rgb color on each sine wave :D

it might become hard to get good colors out of the box, a versatile color approach could help, either use hsv, or rgb, and simply add the values, multiplied with the sine values ;) i think this goes in the direction of what pauldel does

Thanks!

Yeah, the periodicity of those sine waves were randomly selected, and I am not sure if I don't think just merging every 4th color dark and every 4th color light on random colors is better, as I use to do it.

i mean, do not apply the sine waves to the rgb values, apply the sine waves to the FULL color, e.g. brightness, and use any number of base colors with own frequencies :D :D :D

I like where this is going.. :)
