Title: camera path, expression formulas driven animation parameters, fractal noise Post by: jamas on January 01, 2014, 08:11:27 PM
...I see ambitious features evolving and Mandelbulber is great for makin fractals. However if you want to push your animation on another level, like strobe lights, adding some fractal particles or nuke explosions it gets tough. I managed to import fractals in 3ds max with camera mapping and in AfterFX with Mocha planar tracking... ...and it's not worth the time. So I decided to post this :) It just feels like even simple spline would speed up the workflow and expand possibilities alot. 1. Save/Load camera path / bezier spline Camera along the path can get tricky if you want to go trough THAT hole, you move vertex/keyframe... ...interpolation... ...and everything goes bannanas. I really felt urge to save path as a seperate backup file once I got it right... ...and when I messed it up. This would also enable us to recreate Mandelbulber 3Dspace/camera much easier in 3rd party software (figureout scale and dont go wild with zoom, pan) ...also when you pile up keyframes, seems it's more efficient to do spline editing in some other software and then load/ test ~10 spline variations in Mandelbulber. 2. Expressions driven parameters Animating with keyframes is limited. We could animate light color, intensity, fractal parameters etc. with expression formulas, fractal or even simple sine function. Math is already there. Nobody wants to bother with keyframes anyway. 3. Fractal noise ...for that volume light and everything else awesome. ...and again from "Joe's wish list" 4. Zdepth pass it's not only about saving rendering time by doing focal blur in post... ...in combo with alpha it provides full control of rendered footage. BTW I am noob. I installed M seven days ago and got addicted. Just finished my 1st animation now. While workin I scratched my head 4x... ...and was like "nooooo.... ....it has to be there, got to check manual... ...o well, let's do it by hand". Anyway, this is one awesome piece of software! 3d camera path can be solved easy and fast with new 3D camera tracker in after effects cs6, got great results when rendered "clean duplicate" animation in open cl with no effects and used that for tracking errr... and generated z depth pass using black fog :embarrass: cheers Title: Re: camera path, expression formulas driven animation parameters, fractal noise Post by: joe on January 23, 2014, 02:28:08 PM Brilliant! Thanks, I'll look into after effects. Expressions driven parameters, yes. |
