Title: Google image finder (easily catch art thiefs!)
Post by: Mrz00m on December 08, 2013, 09:21:41 PM
I just found google's <<search image of same type>> function... if you right click an image result and search google for same image. you can actually multiply an image type with a search word.

that is nice, indeed, since that resource is so big, it is really obtaining interesting results, and many of the fractal images make good starting points ;)

you can also drag any image(from your harddrive or other websites) into the google-image-search bar and it will find similar pictures or different versions..
I love that feature!

or find the original if someone uploads a image and clams it is theirs or gives NO copyright information

i do a lot of work with images and the attribution MUST be given

Well I have just done this with one of my images and I found out that someone else has taken credit for it and is using it...  :hurt:

My pic of 2010 here: http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=2815

Used here as a banner for a blog without credit or linkage to thew original:

https://plus.google.com/107465440456517573160

And furthermore attributed to a certain Ahmed Foula which I am certainly not:

 :wtf:

Well, blob, that's the internet.
Try contacting the person nicely and if the person denies it all, maybe some  :police: action could be done. :)

Well I would have done this but I just don't feel like registering a Google+ account plus leaving it this way will leave a bigger chance to expose this guy as the shameless thief and liar he is when/if someone searches for other cool fractal pics by him.

Blob

i just posted this on the G+ page
Quote
you might want to CORRECT the image attribute to the CORRECT copyright owner

http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=2815
the owners name on the site is "blob"

Using this feature I found many people or even companies using my images  without authorization. For instance I like this page from China using my photo of a 3D print. They never replied to my e-mails...
