Title: 1.19 Network Rendering Win64 not working
Post by: geomagnet on December 06, 2013, 03:58:29 AM
Hello,

I'm been rendering some fractals and tried to use the network rendering option but it doesn't seem to work.

I have a Win64 8-core system with a GTX-650Ti card which I design on and I've installed vers. 1.19 OpenCL.
I also have a Win32 4-Core system with SLI connected dual 8800GTS cards, I installed vers. 1.19 OpenCL (32bit).

After starting the server on the Win32 system, scanning, identifying the client (win64) I start to render and
see no difference in output time.  As a matter of fact, it seems to hang for about 10 seconds before rendering.

As you know, the OpenCL option doesn't work on complex fractals so I'm running both machines without OpenCL enabled.

Is there some type of reporting that will show if the two are working, or an error that I can fix?  I have a 3 minute HD animation
to make and was hoping to boost my time.  Maybe there is a render farm that is available with mandelbulber?

Thanks

James

networking is currently broken on the 64bit build

Finally I have fixed this problem. Somebody give me the hint that under Windows Vista 64-bit and also under Win7 it tried to use IPv6. The same behavior was in 32 and 64 bit version of Mandelbulber under 64 bit Windows. Version 1.20 which was just released (now only win32 compilation - which also runs under win64) should work properly. It used only IPv4 addresses.
