Title: Animation Tutorial Post by: geomagnet on December 01, 2013, 10:41:11 PM Hello,
I seem to have lost my mind. I can't figure out what to do with the animation settings. What I want to do is start with a keyframe0 then rotate the camera 10° on keyframe1 and render 100 frames between keyframes. I have no clue what is happening. I saved the keyframes.fracts (0 & 1), but this thing has a mind of its own its rendering all sorts of stuff. Can someone please explain how to do this and/or the usages of all animation settings? Cheers, JS Title: Re: Animation Tutorial Post by: taurus on December 01, 2013, 11:32:34 PM not new, but still valuable

Try with four key frames, keyframe 0 being 10 degrees less than your first keyframe, and keyframe 3 being 10 degrees more than your second keyframe, the render from Start Frame 100 to End Frame 200 ie the middle section. Not sure about rotation, but when navigating the catmull rom spline curve (being a cubic) needs a minimum for four points to work properly (one before and one after the keyframe section you are working with), so between keyframes 0 and 1, and also between the last two keyframes, there can be an "s" shaped curve between these keyframes rather than a single direction of curvature. Its difficult to explain but I graphed it in excel to see how it works. Also note that if you ever choose to rotate greater than 180 degrees between keyframes, say positive 190 degrees it will take the shortest route ie negative 170 degrees not positive 190. Im not sure about all of this Title: Re: Animation Tutorial Post by: taurus on December 02, 2013, 10:30:50 AM Also note that if you ever choose to rotate greater than 180 degrees between keyframes, say positive 190 degrees it will take the shortest route ie negative 170 degrees not positive 190. I had some old files in the keyframe directory, created a subdirectory and forgot to update the path settings. Not to mention it was trying to render thumbnails in the timeline (in 2K) which was appeared to have crashed, instead took an hour to update. Growing pains... Thanks for your help. |
