Title: Hybrid fractals in OpenCL mode?
Post by: erstwhile on December 01, 2013, 04:48:19 AM
Looks like when I do a hybrid fractal in Mandelbulber OpenCL it treats it as a Mandelbulb.
Is there a way to use the Custom Formulas to do a hybrid fractal, like IFS + scaling + Mandelbulb?

You can render hybrid formulas by writing own custom formula. You can grab code from different formulas and put them into one formula. Some example is here http://www.fractalforums.com/gallery-b177/opencl-and-hybrid-formula/
If you don't know how to calculate 'distance estimation' you can use 'delta DE' method. If using delta DE image will be too noisy use engine/linear de mode.
