Title: Mandelbox Space Station Animation (re rendered)
Post by: lukesleftleg on November 23, 2013, 12:49:55 PM

I actually did this one a while back, but as it was one of my earlier ones, I've learned a thing or two since then, so I decided it deserved to be re-rendered in higher resolution.

YouTube don't seem to have murdered it as much as they normally do, but there's still a few bits where it breaks up. Any tips on avoiding YT's compression artefacts would be gratefully appreciated.

Anyway. Enjoy. :)

Edit: Not sure why it hasn't embedded the video and only given the link.  :hmh: Any ideas, anyone?
Edit2: Striking out the above.

Looks like you used a secure link for some reason  (https: for the prefix, I just switched it to the standard http: prefix and it embedded fine   O0 )

Fun little animation by the way

Like it, Luke Sleftleg :) :) The use of the Fisheye? lens is really effective :)

avoid youtube-induced eye cancer by hosting the high quality original file somewhere and not using youtube ;)

Thanks guys.  :)

Hehe, yeah, it's getting to the point where if I don't use Fisheye, I feel like I'm missing out on all the fractal goodness going on behind me. :D

Yeah, I've gotta say I'm kind of coming to that conclusion myself. The only thing that keeps me coming back to YouTube is the fact that it's free, and that's it. I should really get a paid-for Vimeo account when I've got some spare cash, although I'm not sure when that'll be.

Unless anyone knows of a decent free alternative video hosting site that doesn't butcher the videos with draconian compression policies?
