Hello, my name is Dan. I have been playing with mandelbulb3d lately and enjoying it very much. I intend to set up a blog to show some images I've made. In the past I have used Fractint, UF4 & UF5, and apophysis. The mandelbulb and related 3d generators are a new inspiration to get back into fractal art.  ;D

Has anyone else tried MB3D on Windows 8.1? I'm having problems that I will describe in the Mandelbulb3d section.  :sad1:

I have used MB3D on Win8, but refuse to update to 8.1  (I never allow any updates to my computers).  I only wound up with 8 due to bad circumstances too, would rather have skipped it, but ...  didn't).

I saw your other post and that is a strange issue indeed.  I can only say it works on 8.0

Hopefully somebody else will have an answer for you.

Enjoy the site, and feel free to post some of your stuff here  (many of us don't bother visiting external links because we're a lazy bunch!).

Thanks Sockratease . Are there any posts that explain where to post images and how to use galleries?

I posted a couple image links into an Images Showcase new topic, then thought perhaps you are supposed to post to a gallery and reference it in the Showcase. When I tried to set up a Gallery I made a link to an image to use as Icon, then realized it should have been a thumbnail. Now I can't edit it to make it right. I tried searching for posts about using the galleries and my searches get no results.

Is there a starting point for NOOBs that explains searching?

the searching acts weird, sometimes just pressing search again on the "nothing found" output gets you the desired results

but you figured it out yourself already, using the gallery is adviseable, to keep images bundled, the drawback is that you have to post them by hand refering to your gallery entry, the use of thumbnails is for your own liking ;)
