Black points in the minibrot do not escape after over 54,000,000,000 iterations (yes, that's 54 billion, with a "b"); the whitest points immediately around it take at least ten million. Rendering took three weeks, but it would have been three years without a sophisticated speedup that exploits a regularity in the Mandelbrot set's behavior near deep minibrots. (It's probably possible to get this in three minutes, now, using a perturbation theory renderer with a good reference point or three, though!)
