Title: Incendia ?? Post by: chaos_crystal on October 31, 2013, 05:46:16 PM Anyone around here still using that? I dabble in it from time to time, although I have been frustrated because it is slow on my XP and not much faster on my quad-core laptop... :snore:
Two questions: How can we tell when an image is finished rendering, I have one right now which is fairly good but it's been going for 11 hours and still looks pixelated in the preview. I wish Incendia had a feature somewhere like for example, Mandelbulb3D where it gives you the specific time that it needs to complete a render. - Also I have trouble with the lighting, most of the time whatever I choose never looks right on the image, and the lighting is too bright and I don't know how to tone it down a little. I have googled for support forums and such, but there certainly isn't a lot of support out there for Incendia, for some reason. And yet I know it's a fantastic program capable of gorgeous works... See, this is why most of my abstract work is currently done with good ole reliable Fractal Explorer. Old program but still makes sumptuous images if you know what you're doing with it. And it is fast! ;D Title: Re: Incendia ?? Post by: Catelee2u on March 12, 2014, 10:43:27 PM I've used Incendia a little and as far as I can tell you just wait until you feel satisfied with the image. I tend to save an image every so often and then set it going again so I can see how it progressed over time.
You can change how much processor it uses on one of the tabs but only really recommend ramping it up if you don't plan on using the computer for anything else because it pretty much uses it all. A fun program to play around with and I'm by no means an expert...not really into reading tutorials...I tend to just fiddle until I get things to work but that's not always the best way. Fractal Explorer - yeah it's great, everytime I think I've discovered all it's features I find something new I missed previously, found something new last night. Title: Re: Incendia ?? Post by: IteratedLaughter on May 19, 2014, 08:57:02 AM I have it, have tried it. Gotten confused.. I've seen some really cool images that are apparently made with it thought! But I can't seem to get anything! haha |
