Title: Free Music Post by: mclarekin on October 26, 2013, 04:20:31 AM I was thinking that there should be a post for links to Free Music (if there isn't one already)
Internet Archive (https://archive.org/details/opensource_audio) has a lot of Public Domain recordings often from around the 1930-1940, some are very cool. There is jazz, classical & country from old 78rpms and cylinders. example: Sugar Blues https://archive.org/details/ClydeMccoy-SugarBlues1931 (https://archive.org/details/ClydeMccoy-SugarBlues1931) Mixing primitive 1930s jazz with 2013 Computer powered fractals would be cool. Soundcloud.com (http://www.Soundcloud.com/) hosts new music, with many a amateur contributor, who I'm sure would be very happy for their music to be highlighted as a backing track for fractal animation, if one just asks. Our member Kausemus Dig.ccmixter (http://dig.ccmixter.org/) I will add to this when I remember the other ones For those more adventurous and more talented (only by pure luck) of us, the Internet Archive has a great selection of old movies and cartoons also in the Public Domain. Combining an old Betty Boop cartoon with a fractal animation would be cool. I once viewed a video that incorporated parts of a Japanese bands video clip with a fly-through fractal animation. I think it was Fashion Monster by some distant relative of Eiffie, but has since been removed from YouTube, which is a great shame. Title: Re: Free Music Post by: eiffie on October 26, 2013, 06:33:06 PM Nice list!
Here are a couple more users making fractal music. I'm sure they would allow reuse if asked. https://soundcloud.com/menokefug (https://soundcloud.com/menokefug) https://soundcloud.com/eiffie (https://soundcloud.com/eiffie) -not sure if you can trust this guy ...and don't forget this cool little fractal music app http://robertinventor.com/software/tunesmithy/tune_smithying.htm (http://robertinventor.com/software/tunesmithy/tune_smithying.htm) Also there was a user toxicdwarf (still around??) who made music for reuse but his soundcloud is no more :( Title: Re: Free Music Post by: toxic-dwarf on March 22, 2014, 03:00:36 AM Hi, thanks for the mention effie, I am still around, but online much less these days. My sound cloud account has changed to http://www.soundcloud.com/toxic-dwarf (http://www.soundcloud.com/toxic-dwarf) and there is a link to a my second sound cloud account. The music is free to download and I am happy for people to use it for their movies. All I would ask is to be credited and drop me an email to let me know. Also feel free to post links in the comments on sound cloud to your work so others can enjoy it too! |
