Title: noise problem ? Post by: fractales75 on October 11, 2013, 11:51:58 AM I made a picture (from MarkJayBee parameters but highly modified) that I can not complete: there is a lot of noise, and I can not remove it. I searched, maybee not on the right place, and I have not found what is wrong. I have not enough experience... I searched in tutorials, and I still have not found what could 'cure' my image can someone look at the parameters? and tell me what's wrong? &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Mandelbulb3Dv18{ g....EJ/....1...w....2M...U1tJs363CuzGykdcqyfF4ErDXdCq75C.In/aS9.TyrzAJdrEmM1Wuj ................................Gp4FyTu6I.2........Y.hy8.......E.......UK/2...wD ...Uz6/....n0....Mk./...........X1...2E4.....EwbqnqXSFnD/.kRsTyDebkG.dkpXg1.nAnA z6....kD12../..........wz................................cU0.....y1...sD...../.. .w1...sDtJKGIvyRzuvL0EHQmzj4zy9N4kgNzzmj.st.hKFLlwflaDH3n71jyS4QmI2I4QgDQoXtGm5w 3v9jGoozmxz9zYqC1AscyfljU....3oi9.........UaNalD.U....sD..G...........zD........ kz1..........rAnAt1...sD....zMKSslo1niwwPpS/5ROqkFbaROsk91........EGX72Ew....k1. .....Ksulz1.......kz.Iwl31E5.I../0...U2....D....j0...U4...U8....4/...UHB...UJr5I 1./U.41P17wcHRIlclra2D3ECNA60c..qO5I..klrlkCx9zj6s41pmERLz9..........Ek.IwjUY72. .g0JDYiN9.2.7hYxqz5sz.EFpzsIi1wDU.V1.wmFD/..sKtn7mv/.v/STeucQJ.k..........E7GMYz I4fJ..E4yVUM04/E.G.at0ZYHz1.u.CzGUYpzEU.Iwjdg43..sTc3eOd7.28kRrRJOqsz.UPMNbaAnxD 2Ik3zvsHY...IuC52512./UJqCEKICtD.6ifRMSXjx1..wsff0EzxrDcUB0Pe7..xrTzUee8Smvi.oTz x1OuU/8cU0EzxrDcNsLT/88.xrTzUydTU08c..8cU0upy/8cU0.cU08cKw5cU08.U08cU4pTU08c..8c U0eqz/8cU0.cU08c...cU08czz/cU08cyz1cU08cxz3cU08c.Y4RtpmPap0RcJK9aJ5Rp7LNhU2FhQLM E....AU.V2U.....I....k....kIdJaQkVIOg7KNmF5...............................U/4MU/ 4M........UNaNaNaN4../........zD........kz1........wz........................... ...............................................E........kz1..................... .....................2.....3....A....AJOZ75Q6Z4PWJaQo/.......................... .....MU/4MU/4................UzD........kz1........wz.........zD................ ..........................................................2........wz........... ................................/....E/...E.....T7LNXZ4QmxqMVl4Km............... ................................OaNaNaNa7z1.............................kz1..... ................................................................................ .......Fractales75....................} {Titel: gotham_city} &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& thanks ! philippe :) Title: Re: noise problem ? Post by: cKleinhuis on October 11, 2013, 01:10:20 PM i played around with the settings, hmm, damn hard scene, the higher you set the DE Stop value the fewer details the image has, but it is the small things
that clutter up the pic, i then tried using absurdly small de stop values like 0.01 this removes just some of the cluttering, so, perhaps you really need to render it at a real high resolution with real small de stop values, and then scale it down :( i read the descriptions in the formulas, you are using a "reciprocalx2" formula, in the description (on the i button beside the name) it is hinting that the formula might introduce noise, hmm, it seems to be a drawback of that formula Title: Re: noise problem ? Post by: lenord on October 11, 2013, 04:26:53 PM The noise I am seeing is positional light artifacts, light scattering, this happens when you bury positional lights. You have to play with intensity and specularity a lot to get it right, or use mapping or Global lights or bring the positional lights out front. A full on white specular object color is a contributing factor too, dull it down and cut the amount. Of course the larger the Render, the lower the SWL and RSM will negate noise too. It's really not that noisy a Parameter, there's a lot that are worse than this, most of the noise here can be fixed with Lighting and gradient adjustments IMO.
Just some quick lighting adjustments, intensity and spec mostly. Post by: fractales75 on October 11, 2013, 07:21:30 PM thank you very much! :thanks1: that's very interesting; and it's certainly a tip for the topic 'beginners tip' about the noise these informations will save a lot of time and save a lot of images anyway , I don't understand "SWL" and "RSM" ... ::) Of course the larger the Render, the lower the SWL and RSM will negate noise too. Post by: lenord on October 12, 2013, 10:09:01 PM thank you very much! :thanks1: that's very interesting; and it's certainly a tip for the topic 'beginners tip' about the noise these informations will save a lot of time and save a lot of images anyway , I don't understand "SWL" and "RSM" ... ::) RSM is the Raystep Multiplier and SWL is Stepwidth Limiter settings in the Render settings. For a Full Res image typical 3000x1688 I use a RSM of 0.05, SWL of 0.1, Stepcount 8-14, Smooth Normals 3-4, Normals on DE and first step Random on and Raystep sub DE Stop (if DE Stop is 2 or greater) Title: Re: noise problem ? Post by: chaos_crystal on December 12, 2013, 08:31:54 PM I have noisy problems in images often too, so maybe lenord's suggestions will also help me! :embarrass: |
