Title: Saying hi from Austria! Post by: Fugliado on October 02, 2013, 10:47:52 AM Dear friends of fractals,
it has been a long time since I last did anything with fractals but they have never been far from my mind. I will never forget the joy I felt, when I first managed to get a mandelbrot fractal on my 4-color 320x200 screen in 1991 using powerbasic. After that I took a long break from rendering fractals myself, due to the horrific amount of time it would block my poor 286 PC. With the internet came loads of pre-rendered stuff, so there was no need to do anything. I studied bioinformatics, went into research, did a lot of AI stuff, became frustrated with official research and university politics, founded a company, sold it, now working happily as a corporate drone in a really nice company. A recent experience with a friend reminded me of the beauty of fractals, so I downloaded Mandelbulb3D and started to render a first animation, since I was unhappy with the compression quality of some otherwise really nice viodes on youtube. Privately I do rock climbing in the Alps, cave diving and some other crazy stuff, but more than anything else I do Wing Chun, to be more precise: Eight Pattern Wing Chun (www.8pwc.com) of which I am the founder. I have two youtube channels: http://www.youtube.com/user/8pwc (for the wing chun stuff, hope someone here will like it) http://www.youtube.com/user/l05tin5pac3 (mostly for private stuff, expect some fractal animations here soon) Title: Re: Saying hi from Austria! Hope to see some of your 3-D fractal work displayed soon. Title: Re: Saying hi from Austria!
