Title: I finally ordered an fpga board \o/
Post by: ker2x on September 25, 2013, 10:14:32 AM
I have this long term project to develop an FPU (Fractal Processor Unit), and i finally ordered an fpga board :
http://papilio.cc/

I'm waiting for it (USPS ... sigh).

the arduino have a 8 bit cpu (without FPU) running at 16Mhz and 128KB of memory (yes, KB, not MB)

I rendered my first M-set on Atari 65 so why not with arduino  O0. I'm really curious what performance you will get with FPGA. Would be nice to have complete fractal formula iteration computed in one CPU/FPGA cycle.
