Title: chrod is finally here Post by: chronologicaldot on September 21, 2013, 09:40:21 AM Hey there! I'm a blip in time, a chronological dot, so to speak. (Maybe there's a fractal theory for that? idk) I've come to be a bit of a fractal fanatic over the years, and probably would have been here a long time ago if I hadn't kept putting it off. I really enjoy fractal art, sometimes looking at hundreds of fractal art images a day (when I have the time).
I like making fractal art myself. Some of my work is on DeviantArt, under the account http://ablipintime.deviantart.com/ (http://ablipintime.deviantart.com/) However, like every picky person who can't seem to figure out the software, I decided to leave behind most programs and write my own software. It's taking awhile, but keeping things simple I'll be able to get exactly what I want. :) I do, however, still enjoy using programs like JWildfire (my current favorite; sorry Xyrus). Thanks for having me! :D Title: Re: chrod is finally here Post by: cKleinhuis on September 21, 2013, 10:06:56 AM hello and welcome to the forums

Title: Re: chrod is finally here Post by: chronologicaldot on September 23, 2013, 07:34:08 AM Thanks for the welcome, cKleinhuis :) Greetings, and welcome to this particular forum !!! :D What type of fractals are you attempting to create within this program you are writing?? I don't have a particular fractal in mind, though I'd like to do anything I can dream of. I'm designing the program to give me more control over the output than traditional programs do. Hence, no chaos game (though I might make that optional). The basic idea is: Start with a point and let each transform add as many points as it needs. So for example, a circle transform might be set to generate 20 points in a circle. I can set the transforms to go to other transforms or even back to themselves. So, in the case of the circle transform, if the transform is set to go back on itself, then a circle of 20 points will be generated around each of the 20 points of the first circle. Ideally, I should be able to create transforms that replicate all kinds of common fractals (though some of them are definitely going to be very difficult to implement). And then with this program, I'll be able to change the fractal's aspects that I'd like to change. ... It's easier said than done, of course. |
