Title: Densely Populated
Post by: simon.snake on September 16, 2013, 10:44:01 PM
Here's a lovely image I created while I was browsing around the Mandelbrot.

(http://www.needanother.co.uk/uploads/Densely Populated.png)

Coordinates available on request, and I can supply my colour palette also if anyone wants it.

:thumbsup1:

Wouldn't it be cool to make a color cycling animation of this location?

Which, number 7? As a zoom movie or just at the zoom it is?

Great idea.  Not sure how I'll record it (might have to save an image for every palette entry, then combine them in Paint Shop Pro's animation studio) but I can give it a go...

Maybe wait a bit on that idea until you've seen some of the images that are to come...

Number 8 in the series:

Two green double headed jellyfish in a loving embrace, or is it just a lovely dense zoom into the Mandelbrot!

This one's got a real mood to it.  Not sure if it's a good mood or a bad mood!

On to number 14 in the series:

Hope you didn't notice the small spots that had reached maximum iterations in the middle of the spirals.

Still a beautiful 'glowing' image!

Thanks for your comment.  It really does have a glow about it.

Here's the next image in the series - number 15:

(http://www.needanother.co.uk/uploads/Densely Populated 15.png)

This has a different feel to it.

For those of you who didn't notice, image 14 and 15 were the same image with slightly different maximum iterations (which changed the colours).

We should now move on to image number 16:

(http://www.needanother.co.uk/uploads/Densely Populated 16.png)

I think this one's on fire.

Anyone (or everyone) of these images would make a wonderful large area rug, such as the oriental and middle-eastern rugs that are hand-woven.    :D

That's a great idea.

Don't fancy spending the time it would take to make, but it would mean the rug would be worth a fortune.

Wonder where it would be possible to get the coloured wool.

They would not have to be wool, could be made from most anything capable of producing a decent rug.  And your images are not that much more complex than some rugs I have seen before, such as a few found on these web pages:

    http://www.pinkinki.net/oriental-rugs-for-beauty-comfort-and-warmth-of-your-home/ (http://www.pinkinki.net/oriental-rugs-for-beauty-comfort-and-warmth-of-your-home/)

more hand-woven middle eastern oriental rugs (https://www.google.com/search?q=hand-woven+middle+eastern+rugs&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=20RjUqSnJ4fC2wXi4YHQBg&ved=0CKMBELAE&biw=1680&bih=969&dpr=1#q=hand-woven+middle+eastern+oriental+rugs&tbm=isch&imgdii=_)

A beauty. The lights turned down, a glass of blood red wine, exquisite music and the fire flickering low over your latest fire and ice rug. What could be better. :) :)
