Made this yesterday =)  thought the forum might find it interesting.

Generates trees recursively, each branch is itself a 'tree'.   

Came out to be very close to nature (I think so anyway).

haha, nice animation it generates when growing, well done!
a note, when branching there is a formula for the size of the child branches, which comes down to that any child branches widths  should summ up to the mother branch :)

Made a small forest with different values entered in.  Ended up looking like a bleak winter scene where the leaves have completely fallen off and nothing but snow in the background.
 

a simple tweak might be to give the trees random shades of grey :D

Make that a couple of tweaks:

• Ability to choose a color for the current "tree" being rendered.
• Ability to choose the background color.

Too bad this site seems to be dead. Did anyone save some pictures so I can see how they looked like? - I'm also working on a fractal tree generator.

no, i just can describe it to you, it basically was starting with a line, and this line then branched randomly forming the shape of trees in its most rudimentary form, interactive and realtime for moving trees and watching them grow, some eye candy fractal experiments i would say
