Post by: eiffie on September 01, 2013, 05:50:31 PM I have been doing gi with glsl scripts for a while but my method is a bit "different". :) Here are some examples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjWyM7TTydw These are between 64 and 128 ray casts per pixel. It is using a very simple method to determine a probable direction for each ray bounce (importance sampling) and then determining the amount of light energy left after the bounce (a perfect reflection loses no energy, a diffuse one colors it). The rays are followed backwards from the camera into the scene and only stop when they run out of energy, go out of bounds or hit a light. If you are interested I can post Fragmentarium code for it. This is a different (simpler) scheme from my earlier gi efforts which were biased towards the light. |
